I'm ranting about Joes, we went there not to long ago to buy a pair of binoculars and the guy behind the counter was so rude. This guy sat there talking to someone else about fishing for ten-fifteen minutes and never even acknowledged we were even there. I think it was because we were not wearing the right kind of clothes, we wore our dingey's cause we came in after work. I don't know the real reason why, but we left and went to the Surplus Center and got our "nocks" and the guy there was real helpful.

Re: Joes
Yea, Seems like "costumer service" is going away. I grew up in Texas and there it was "the costomer is always right" attitude. Funny how things are in different places.
Next time just "butt in" if all they are doing is B.Sing. I would also send an email to the manager telling him that they lost a sale and the reasion why. That will get some attention.
I need to do that for shopCo here also. I wanted to try on some pants and the "door" to the mens dressing room was a CURTIAN! The wemons had real dors but I was not able to use them. I was told to just buy the pants and bring them back if they didn't fit! What a hassle that would be. I didn't get them and left.

Re: Joes
Customer service has ALWAYS been lacking in Bend. It doesn't even matter what venue - from Qwest to retail sales to the dang gardeners!
I was looking for someone to do "mow and blow" for me each week and saw a service in my neighborhood and talked to the boss. I asked them to come give me a bid. They never showed. Typical tho.

Re: Joes
Thanks Zeke for the advice I have a hard time butting in though because I grew up in Texas as well as a child and the constant "yes maam" "no maam" is hard to ignore, and I'm just way too polite to everyone.

Re: Joes
That's true. But being polite is just natural for people from the south......at leats most.
But you also need to stand up for your rights as a customer.
What part of Texas did you grow up in? I was in a little town called Plantersville. I lived right behind he Texas Rinasance Festival. That was a cool place.
Alot different up here. But I love the summers up here. Way better than down south

Re: Joes
I was born in Springfield Or and at about 3 we packed up and moved to Alvin Tx so my father could work for Xerox, then about 8 they divorced and we moved to Manvel and I think it was 89' or 90' we moved back here to Springfield. Sometimes I miss the stuff down in Texas, like warm ocean water and the Astrodome, but not the fire ants. I remember being in several hurricanes living in a trailer, that was scary. The one I can't remember the name of it but it blew out the windows of skyrise offices in Houston and there was glass every where. The space station was cool too, my dad worked there for a time and would bring home pictures of the astronauts for my brother and I.
