I find it funny sometimes, sometimes thought provoking, but all in all i'm kinda sick of it there??? It seems like there is too much low end thinking...I don't mind the arguments that have substance, but argueing about showing porn, who's a know it all, who's a dumbass... and on and on. There are times i would like to see everyone at least try to elevate their games, but even as i look around bend, and central oregon, i wonder if thats even possible at all. Repulicans blame democrats who blame republicans. Liberals versus conservatives. Atheist's versus higher being believers. Americans against anyone and everyone who doesn't believe our so-called proven, free democracy. Will the idiacy cease or slow down at all? Or would you just like to talk about porn?

A lot of what you see there is just trolls and kids. They feel free to shoot their mouths off because they don't have to sign their posts.

I find some of it funny as well but most of it is stupid ranting at the wall idiocy.

I agree with all ya'll. When yo hide behind a fackname then people fell like they have no responsibilaty to what is said. It has gotten childish on there. Plus all the flagging! I thought I was an adult and could make up my own mind to what I wanted to read and see? But in the upcoming "nanny" state I quess not!

I'm not even talking about a fake name. I'm a memeber of the "geritol crew" who always uses a moniker. That way if someone wants to direct a comment at one of my posts they know it was me, instead of all those vague "Bend" or "Redmond" posts. You never know what posts came from the same person.

Its really annoying to see people get into disagreements with you guys, and then rip off your moniker, and post junk. For some of us we've only been checking it out for a little while, and know nothing about the geritol gang, and with so many ripping off monikers its kinda hard to get a feel for your gang.

That is half the reason I started this site too... I was noticing too many people posting under other peoples monikers... a bit harder to do that here!

I usually don't argue with them... a battle of wits against the unarmed?

Usually the trolls stand out, even if pretending to be someone else.

Very nicely done, drifter! If for no other reason, at times its funny to see reactions. I have two brothers, and when we were growing up, one brother was fun to mess with, and the more i gave, the more he got angry. I kept waiting for him to realize that we were just trying to get a reaction because we felt that his anger was overblown, but he never did get it. I would try it with my other brother, and maybe get a slight reaction, but he soon wised up. Some people are unarmed, and with every test thrown at them, they just don't seem to get the joke. Those are the ones you should be wary of, because you don't know what they are capable of, and for alot of people, they don't give a shit they'll keep pushing....but when you keep pushing on someone like that bad things can happen...

True... but when I do decide to fire back I try to make sure I'm not angry. Sometimes one carefully place barb in a tender spot can to more damage than repeatedly bashing someone on the head. Personally, I think most of them WANT to be bashed oin the head!

What I hate is all the stupid and discuting "pics". I don't even look at those, well not all the time. It's a crap-shoot...you never know what you are going to get?

I agree with Drifter about the moniker names and how some people steal them! To me that shows no imagination and fear of who you are.

The few times I've posted on there I always used my "moniker" because I am not afraid of the little juvenile kids who would threaten people on there, and in fact if I met them out in public they wouldn't even say hi or nothing.

Oh and the latest abortion rant is sick, especially the pics. They could have just posted a link and left it at that, but no.

I agree. There are a bunch of children there... probably teens, most likely - the youngsters would lose interest too fast.

Craigslist has gone crazy....I hope to god that they dont make their way over here! But i'm not holding my breath....it seems like with everything happening in our country and the world right now, there is alot of anxiety and stress, and people acting downright weird. And i am a little hesitant to say that this is all the work of kids!

well just so you all know the admin here invited all on Craigs list to check out this site and join......so you might end up with those people here anyway. I don't understand the regulars on the R&R on Craigs list it is supposed to be for rants and raves but if you rant about something they all post that you are an idiot and they don't want to hear about how I am not happy because I complained about a local store....or if you rave about something they will post about how they hate it and still don't want to hear anyones opinion but there own.....when HELLO thats what the site is for not just thier stupid poems or lame jokes. They frustrate me there....I havent been on there for months till today.....then the admin here invited all from there to check this out.

Most of the current members here are from Craigslist actually, but if you see by the current posts that are up they aren't the ones who constantly put others down, in fact, I haven't had to "Remove" or "warn" anyone yet. Everyone who is here right now are great!

Thank you for signing up btw, it's great to have you!

Well, amen to all that! I really don't understand those people on RnR. Sounds like the people over on Bend RnR are the same as those on the Corvallis/Albany board. i just don't get it. Okay, spelling and grammar mistakes might drive me nuts, but it doesn't completely invalidate someone's point of view. And isn't that the whole idea anyway? To hear different people's points of view? If everybody agreed about everything and all thought the exact same thing life would be a total bore. What would even be the sense of meeting or knowing different people?

I posted a rant about something once and people jumped all over me like I was starting some kind of coup and was going to take down all small business owners. Get real. My one little post about one thing that irritates me isn't going to change the world or ruin people's businesses. And if you are doing things that are unacceptable business practices anyway, what are you even complaining about. "Oh, I am totally in the wrong, but I am madder than hell that you've called me out on it." That is about their mentality.

Good grief. I could rant for hours about how juvenile most people posting on Craigslist are, but then I probably wouldn't be much better than them. The end!

Its just a matter of time before they leak over here. I just believe that people don't care period anymore. And they are being treated in the same way as well. It s just so sad that people don't like or care about people anymore.

I think it is super sad that people have lost all respect for each other. What the heck has happened in this world? I think that the Internet as depersonalized human interactions and that the anonymity makes people feel free to insult each other. It's a sad state of affairs.

Let's hope if any of the rude, mean, and insensitive people show up here Admin and the moderator will keep them in their place. Personally I am enjoying a forum to talk about all sorts of stuff knowing that everything I say or think will not be criticized to no end. I like hearing different opinions and celebrate diversity.

I agree! no new thought leads to stagnation and death. The only way we can learn and grow is to challenge our thoughts and ideas! You dont have to agree you only have to think and reply, and the key word is THINK! I believe that is the problem with the R&R no one thinks they just get pissy and lash out. I'm glad everyone on here is mature enough to think and reply not just spout bullcarp!

I'll do my best to keep things civilized on these forums... as I siad when the site went live...

The Wrong Planet is ment to be a place where everyone can share their views and opinions without being made fun of or insuted for doing so! We aren't here to bash eachother. We are here to make friends!

Hopefully, it won't come down to me having to swing my admin powers at someone who is harrassing or simply being a jerk...

I'd prefer to be thought of as everyone else on this site, but I refuse to hide behind a secret screen name. I'll always and forever only be the Admin.

Except when I'm the Rank Master, but thats just for fun! Razz

The whole "anonyminty" thing is why I put my real name up front. That wayI am less likely to say something I may regrett later.

Don't get me wronge. I am me, and you take it or leave it. I am oppinionated and sarcastic. A bad speller and short! So there!

    geek

Like others have said, on Craigs list most just want to hear there own thoughts. That's just sadd! But that's what makes this a great country. "free" speach.

I put free in quots becouse it isn't Free, It cost alot of lives and your own courage to stad up for it and to practice it also.
